About Bob Harvey
In addition to owning and running his own landscape/garden design firm, Edelweiss Design, Bob Harvey actively works with city planners in the Twin Cities metro area to replant parks and boulevards with disease resistant elms. He hopes to take his efforts nationwide. Through this process Bob has become an expert on how grassroots civic groups and local governments can work together to invest in and take care of urban forests.
Bob Harvey’s 25-year passion for elm trees began during his teen and college years in Vermont where he witnessed Dutch Elm Disease wipe out the beautiful and majestic trees. In fact, Bob was so affected by their loss that he wrote his college thesis on how the loss of the shady elms impacted the nation's landscape.
