In the 1960s and 70s, hundreds of millions of elm trees nationwide were lost to Dutch Elm Disease, including more than 200,000 in the Twin Cities alone.
Landscape expert Bob Harvey, owner of Edelweiss Design, has founded a cause to “re-elm” the Twin Cities area. The company is presently the main Minnesota supplier of two elm varieties, Princeton and Valley Forge, that have been USDA tested to be resistant to Dutch Elm Disease.
